On March 20th, 2024, the BASC Gender and Development Office along with the BASC Federation of Supreme Student Council, held MusiKababaihan at the Farmer's Training Center Hall. This event, themed "Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patunayan" (A Just Society in the New Philippines: Proving the Abilities of Women), marked the culmination of National Women's Month activities at BASC.
More than 200 eager attendees from a range of organizations, departments, and divisions convened to commemorate women's empowerment with musical performances. In place of Federation Chair Mr. Mark Angelo Briz, Ms. Lady Lee Barrientes, Executive Secretary of the FSSC, gave the event's opening remarks. The GAD Director, Ms. Edna Mae D. Cruz, then gave a sincere thank you to everyone of the staff, instructors, and students whose help and support made the occasion possible.
The heart of MusiKababaihan was a showcase of talented female faculty members. Ms. Gracious T. De Guzman (Institute of Arts and Sciences), Ms. Russel Amira Balancia (Institute of Engineering and Applied Technology), Ms. Trisha Mhaye Campit and Ms. Joyce Anne Bernabe (College of Agriculture), and Ms. Joy Anne Eugenio (Research, Extension, Production and Development Office) all took to the stage, captivating the audience with their vocal prowess.
Vibrant and upbeat performances by Sounds Cool Band, Ms. Princess Izy Libao, Bandang Hiram from BASC BSDC, and a group of gifted students—Levi Micah Gonzales, Clarissa Maniquiz, Jennelyn Casugbo, Halle Sahara Gabriel, Bea Menor, and Carlos Miguel Gonzales—kept the celebration going.
